Mama Runs With Scissors

I Love that I get to share another local northwest boutique with you. This fabulous shop I discovered on Etsy (of course) and squealed when I saw all the great onesies and leggings (aka Kool Kid Legs) she has for the babes.  A little background on Jen and her adorable shop:

I started this wonderful Esty adventure as a stay at home mama to two boys... Rhys 6 and Kai 3. Over the past two years, with the support of my family, friends and all of my awesome Etsy customers, I have turned my passion for designing and sewing into a full time job and a wonderful creative outlet.

GRANDMA RUNS WITH SCISSORS TOO!!
Thanks to all of my wonderful Etsy customers I have been busy enough to need some help.
My mother helps out by watching my boys, sewing Kool Kid Legs and packaging/shipping orders.

All items in my shop are handmade by myself (or my mom) in a non-smoking environment. We do have a rather large St. Bernard named Romeo but he is not allowed in the sewing dungeon!:)

My goal is to provide top quality items and always have happy customers.

Jen's speciality is making super comfy and fashionable onesies with matching Kool Kid Legs, a skirt or even a tutu! There are lots of items for girls, and yes even boys! The first purchases I made from this shop were baby shower gifts for boys, I was so excited to surprise the moms with these cute new threads. Here's what I got:

love these! Now this sewing mommy has lots of things in her shop, t-shirts, hats, skirts!

But her signature pieces have to be the Kool Kid Legs, they can be worn on the legs or even the arms. All girls and boys will love how if they get hot, just pull the sleeves (leggs) off! Sooooo  many cute styles to choose from. What's your fave?

Great idea for a gift, or for your own bambino. Jen always has the shop well stocked, and will customize if you need to. Like this great custom birthday look, includes 4 pieces:

She always has a bundle deal, like  your choice of any 3 pair of KOOL KID LEG-ARM warmers from the shop (14 inch)

Sizing, care and extra info for Mama Runs With Scissors is:

KOOL KID LEG-ARM WARMERS ARE....
Approx. 14 inches long and fits most newborns to pre-teens.
Adults can wear as non-scrunchy leg warmers or arm warmers.
The fit on newborns is VERY SCRUNCHY unless you fold the tops under. They also can be shortened to 10 OR 12 inches if you prefer. Just let me know in the message space provided at check out.

AS LEG WARMERS they are great as a fashion statement or extra coverage for warmth under pants, skirts or during diaper changes. Also functional as protection for little legs from rough surfaces and the sun!

AS ARM WARMERS you can quick-change a short sleeve into a long sleeve and let you kids rock their own style!

ECers.....you can't find a better pair of "pants" around!
Fabulous for potty training. Just undies and Kool Kid legwarmers and there will be no more messing with extra clothing when you have to get your little one on the potty NOW!

Each pair is made with care and all seams are professionally finished

Isadora

Every time I get on and look in the Isadora shop I feel like I'm shopping for a party. Each garment she makes is so special and unique! And they are all so brightly colored. Living in the Pacific Northwest we need to wear color to counteract all the grey weather :-) So here is what Rachelle, the designer, has to say about herself:

I've been sewing for about 25 years....since I was 5...do the math :) My favorite part of it all is creating. I'm an artist....painting, drawing, sculpting, decorating, designing, sewing, are all in a days work. From the time I was a little girl....there wasn't a garment in my closet that didn't have a speck of paint on it, as I'm sure you can imagine I wasn't my mother's dream daughter, lol. My love of designing started as a teenager. I come from an extremely artistic family, my grandmother is a painter, a cousin who is an architect, my sister is in advertising design and I've delved into just nearly a touch of everything. My real concept of designing began to flourish though, in college, where I made several trips here and there around the globe. I've traveled most of Europe, a few areas of Russia and the Middle East. These trips didn't just give me my sense of style, I also met my tall, dark, handsome Romeo on one excursion! I enjoy chatting with people, making friends and drawing inspiration from my two wonderful, very imaginative children :)

Okay now for the part where I show you all the fabulous things she has in her shop! When I first visited I did not leave empty handed. The first items I had to have for Miss Ellie were:

And here is what Miss Ellie looked like in her new Isadora outfit:

The leggings are Isadora too- yes she is a very talented lady!

I love how comfy this outfit is for Ellie, and it washed up great! Also... she felll that day at a friends house, skinned her knee in these beautiful white tights.....and there was no damage! I don't know if it was luck, or just that its good fabric, but I don't care. They didn't get ruined! So wanna see more... OK

I wasn't kidding about all the color. Plus I love how she photographs the pieces. I can just envision Ellie doing the same poses. So Miss Rachelle is more than dresses, she too creates the hair accessories and adorable (durable) leggings!

I know you will have a really hard time deciding which pieces to get first. But I promise you will not be disappointed. The items look just as great in person as they do in the photos. I hope you become a fan and a customer of Isadora like I have. Enjoy!

Bubble Gum and Buttons

So the shop I am featuring for this post is "Bubble Gum and Buttons."  The shops motto is: Where fun meets class!  I love her title on her profile- Master of Multi-tasking aka MOM; how hilarious is that! The owner is Colleen and she resides in Michigan with her 3 kiddos.  She created this shop just last fall and has been creating funky and classy fashions since.  So what is her specialty.... well let me let the pictues do the talking

Yeah I heard the gasps, freaking adorable right! I purchased this lovely legging set for my BFF Annie and her bun in the oven- Maebel. I love them because, like Colleen suggest, you can give them a twist and it looks as though the stem is wrapping around the chubby little legs.  Leggings like this are great for when the babe is just in a little onesie and you want to spruce it up. Or even better when they start crawling, great little knee protectors. Then for older girls, they can get super funky and use them for arm warmers!

So how does sizing work? Well this is what BGB suggests:
"GUM" - approx 10-14 inches long (most popular size)
*These measurements are based on them laying flat not pulled.

How the "GUM" size leg warmers will fit you.....

Newborns to age 2: To the top of the thigh.
(If you are looking for more of the leg warmer and/or arm warmer style for newborn to age 2 and not the baby leg look please see listings for "Buttons" size Leg and Arm Warmers)

Age 2-7: Just above the knee or mid thigh area

Age 7 to Adult: To the knee or just below the knee (7-Teens looking for more of the scrunch look please see listings for "Bubble" size Leg and Arm Warmers)

*Based on the average person.

BGB does other great pieces besides leggings, even stuff for boys!! Like these bowties and Neckties:

And more girl options.... how cute are these for easter!

So I hope you love this shop as much as I do. Bubble Gum and Buttons is an adorable shop. So support this fun, funky, classy mom and get your little chicks some leggings!!
